Brittany Trembly Recognized with Making a Difference Award

Brittany Trembly, science teacher at Monticello Trails Middle School, was recently honored with the Making a Difference Award for her extraordinary dedication to students and her ability to create a joyful and engaging learning environment. Sponsored by the USD 232 Education Foundation in partnership with Great American Bank, the award recognizes educators and staff who are truly making an impact across the USD 232 community.

Mrs. Trembly was nominated by five students who described her as someone who brings unmatched energy and kindness into the classroom. Her bright, cheerful presence sets the tone each day, helping students feel welcomed, encouraged, and ready to learn. Many note that her smile and upbeat attitude make her classroom a place where stress fades and confidence grows.

One student shared how Mrs. Trembly’s positivity transformed their entire school experience:

“I used to hate science…and now I love science. I always feel comfortable around her, and I’m not scared to ask her questions. She truly makes a big difference in my learning and helps me improve every day.”

Mrs. Trembly’s impact extends far beyond teaching science. Students noted her ability to create a space where students feel seen, her patience when explaining difficult concepts, and her habit of checking in on their emotional well‑being. They admire her authenticity, her ability to make lessons fun, and the way she treats every student with respect.

In recognition of her dedication, Mrs. Trembly received $300 from the USD 232 Education Foundation through its partnership with Great American Bank, along with a handcrafted award created by students in the CTEC CAPS program.
