Anna Bidnick, paraprofessional at Riverview Elementary, was honored on September 30, 2026, with the Making a Difference Award for the way she supports students. This award, sponsored by the USD 232 Education Foundation in partnership with Philhour Designs, recognizes educators and staff who go above and beyond to positively impact the lives of our students, families, and staff.

Anna was nominated by a Riverview teacher who shared in the nomination:

“Mrs. Bidnick is truly one of those people who makes a difference simply by being present. She brings an incredible amount of patience, kindness, and grace to everything she does, and it is evident in the way she works with every student she supports.

“What stands out most about Mrs. Bidnick is her ability to meet students exactly where they are emotionally, academically, and socially. She takes the time to understand each child as an individual, making them feel seen, heard, valued, and supported. She has a remarkable way of creating a safe space where students feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. Having Mrs. Bidnick in my classroom has been such a joy. I have loved watching the way she works with my students and the genuine relationships she builds with them. She is incredibly supportive while still holding students to high expectations. She never allows a student’s challenges to become a reason to lower the bar. Instead, she helps students recognize what they are capable of and gives them the encouragement and confidence they need to show what they know.

“Mrs. Bidnick has a special gift for helping students believe in themselves. She celebrates their successes, encourages them through their struggles, and consistently reminds them through both her words and actions that they are capable. That confidence shines through those students!

“I am so grateful to have Mrs. Bidnick as part of our school community and especially grateful to have her in my classroom. The impact she has on students is truly meaningful, and the kindness, patience, and confidence she pours into them does not go unnoticed. She is an incredible paraprofessional and an even more incredible advocate for kids.”

In recognition of her dedication, Anna received $300 from the USD 232 Education Foundation through its partnership with Philhour Designs, along with a handcrafted award designed by students in the CTEC CAPS program.
