Jordan Anderson, Special Education teacher at Lexington Trails Middle School, was honored on May 13, 2026, with the Making a Difference Award for his inspiring dedication to students. This award, sponsored by the USD 232 Education Foundation in partnership with Great American Bank, recognizes educators and staff who go above and beyond to positively impact the lives of our students, families, and staff.
Jordan was nominated by a Starside staff member and shared in the nomination:
“Jordan works at LT, but before this year he worked at Starside. Recently a student who has been struggling behaviorally mentioned a few times that he misses ‘Mr. A.’ We reached out to Jordan to see if he could come visit with the student, thinking maybe sometime before the end of the year. He came right over after LT dismissal the same afternoon. We brought the student to the office where he delightedly exclaimed, ‘Mr. A!!! I was just talking about you!’ Jordan stayed and visited with the student, giving him lots of words of encouragement. It was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact strong relationships have on our students.”
In recognition of his dedication, Jordan received $300 from the USD 232 Education Foundation through its partnership with Great American Bank, along with a handcrafted award designed by students in the CTEC CAPS program.
Jordan’s care for students both in and outside his building embodies the spirit of the Making a Difference Award. His presence and encouragement reflect the kind of meaningful influence that strengthens students and elevates the work of the entire team.
